[BABICZ002]
Robert Babicz : The Feeling EP : Babiczstyle : 12"
With his 'Immortal Changes' album still riding high, and Babiczstyle 001 in the locker, Robert returns with his next EP of exclusives, 'The Feeling' EP. Babiczstyle has been launched by Robert as a platform for him to release some of the large archive of work that he has written for his live sets. "I see the label as a platform, where i release only my own music and collaborations. I do this to have a platform with the highest possible audio quality and have a place for me and my friends to release our music." - Robert Babicz After the main-room wonderment's and euphoric soundscapes of the 'Remote Kiss' EP, Robert delves deeper and delivers three cuts of warm, elegant house. As ever each track serves up the sonically expansive yet completely intimate feel that only Babicz can deliver. This is no more evident than on 'Don't Give Up'. Its funky 90's'esq bassline is a foundation for his trademark synths and keys to work their magic upon… / Minimal / Tech-House / [10/7/2010]

[CYN043]
Adam Marshall : Searchin EP : Cynosure : 12"
No stranger to straight up, tracky techno - the cuts on Adam Marshall’s third Cynosure release are pure evidence of his familiarity with the genre. “Searching” on side A is the slick, DJ-friendly, jacker - reminiscent of Detroit’s early sound. A relentless, but never tiring, deep analog bass sequence backed with Marshall’s signature grooves are the recipe here. Killer just about sums it up. On the flip, “Jamming the Unit” is another tracky workout designed for the long-mix, followed by the kick-less Basic Channel-influenced builder, entitled “Champion". A perfect weapon in any techno set. For the digital bonus C-side, Adam delivers a 15-minute epic drum workout mix called “Unit Jamming (Long Beach Mix)” Yes, another timeless, ace of an EP - packed with mix appeal from Adam Marshall… order now! / Minimal / Tech-House / [10/7/2010]

Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye….Citizens of Electronica we have come down from the holy mountain to bring you the new Formatik! Once again with an A-side smasher psalm by the chief preachers Format B. Catalogue number Formatik 005 shall purvey the word of the all mighty upon the dance floors. A holy place where the opening times often coincide with the Sunday mass, Unfortunately time is sacred so that when hearing the “Gospel” there shall be little time to close your hands and pray as the nuns will already be body groovin’ in the aisles. With the once cold and dank air of the church at boiling point and its radiant smell having already attracted new guests, in this case Super Flu with their Antichrist Remix adding some soul to the hooklines. [HIGHGRADE083]
Guido Schneider & Pascal Feos : Saftig, Halb Trocken : Highgrade : 12"
If you added up all the years that producer and DJ’s Guido Schneider and Pascal Feos have been in the business of making music, you would come up with over three decades of experience on the dance floor. Both are among the most respected global players in the scene, jetting around the globe playing music, releasing numerous records, both on their own, and other well known labels, working alone or in creative partnerships, but always producing great tunes. Such a position affords the duo space for experimentation. Guido Schneider is currently exploring a link between classical and electronic music, while Palcal Feos is touring throughout Europe. Despite their hectic schedule these two rocks of the electronic scene have found the time for a joint project. The result is “Saftig/Halb Trocken“ to be released on the choice of the capital city, Highgrade Records! Translating to “Juicy and Half Dry“, the title says it all. With so much experience in the background, the track names simply tell us what to expect: Urgent, “juicy“ beats push the tracks into juicy minimalism. The first track “Saftig“ kidnaps us away into a hypnotically rhythmical realm, before Schneider and Feos switch it down a gear into “Halb Trocken“. A metallic and sober start creeps into a complex universe of rhythm, sound and samples, gradually reaching a finely balanced musical climax. / Minimal / Tech-House / [10/7/2010]

[MINUS97]
Fabrizio Maurizi : Chronicles : Minus : 12"
FIRST PRESSING WITH LIMITED COLORED SLEEVE!!! The Italian born and raised Fabrizio Maurizi has hit the ground running at an exceptionally quick pace, starting things off with his “Ok, Switch On” EP, which was an instant hit for heads-down techno heads. His third release for Minus is set to boost his name to new heights, further building his reputation as a newcomer who knows exactly what he’s doing. He proves his expertise in looping vocal samples and tweaking them to the extreme-one of his trademark techniques, and something that gives his productions a unique and instantly recognizable twist. His new EP for Minus features two instrumental dancefloor appointed tracks with a clever splash of humanity - subtle and cunningly placed vocal fragments which create a distinct, yet disjointed sense of humanity amongst the onslaught of electronics and studio gadgets. The a-side cut, Bring Me Back showcases Fabrizio’s ability to fuse the robotic movement of proper underground techno, with the patience and steadiness of a perfectly developed human mind. Produced with a tempo at a refreshingly slower pace, Bring Me Back incorporates all the elements for a perfect DJ tool, useful for both a highlight of the set, or a fully functional programmer used to build tension in-between tracks. Utilizing effective breaks and providing subtle surprises around each corner, Fabrizio displays his keen ability for the groove. The appearance of the “bring me back” vocal lies under the track a bit, only surfacing to surprise the listeners with a subtle and sneaky personal touch. Its subtlety is one of the track’s greatest assets, elevating it from interesting to outstanding. / Minimal / Tech-House / [10/7/2010]

[PSPV003.1]
St. Plomb [Jackmate / Soulphiction] : Precious Soul EP : Perspectiv : 12"
Killer deep house release on Ripperton's Perspectiv label. Up and Coming artist St Blomb with a epic building track with a tribal feel to it and an almost cosmic psychelic synth line. One of those tracks that takes things to another level once played at the right moment! Soulphiction taking things back to the floor and keep them feet moving by added a warm blanket of chords and lush grooves. And Jackmate turns Precious Soul into a proper dj tool adding some chicago flavors, immediately resulting in raving feedback and chart positions with several key players and German Groove magazine. Nice one! / Minimal / Tech-House / [10/7/2010]

[RUTA004]
Dandyjack / Lad & Quenum / Sonja Moonear : Captain Deustchland 2 : Ruta 5 : 12"
The "Captain Deutschland"serie continues on the"vinyl only"format and is limited to 300 copies, all hand numbered. Dandy Jack is well known for his multiple collaborations. It’s now about time to lay them down on wax. The second chapter is a honest, loud and direct ode to the joy of queen bass. If you’re searching for deep house and abstract minimal you should better pass your way. Dandy Jack teams up with Geneva fellows Lad and Quenum on the A side for what could be described as a tremendous and heavy ride into the catacombs of techno. Sonja Moonear has a slightly happier and smoother answer on the B side and challenges us with a long and percussive intro that leads into a melancholic twist. Quenum and Lad aren’t new to the electronic music and have been active over a decade. / Minimal / Tech-House / [10/7/2010]

[SWSH006]
Joel Alter : Dust Away : Sweatshop : 12"
Joel Alter blew us away some months ago with his Soul Clap release on Sweatshop! A much under-rated house record which makes things go wild everytime its being dropped. Now he is back strong with more of straight pumping chicago-inspired tracks that continues Alters forays into the rougher, tougher side of house music. Simple and effective tracks that reminds us of early raw house projects of Jeff Mills with basic elements and phat analogue drum machines. [VIVA070A]
Steve Lawler [Audiofly] : Gimme Some More Part 1 : Viva : 12"
VIVa MUSiC delivers another example of why it is a leading light for all things underground, this time with label manager Steve Lawler releasing an EP that epitomises his vision for quality electronic productions. Featuring on ‘Gimme Some More’ is house music’s laureate Roland Clark, who is on hand to add his signature deep soulful vocals to Lawler’s erotic beats. The original mix sees Lawler stay true to the groove, with a warm base-line driving a signature arrangement of drums that intertwine perfectly to create a platform for Clark to deliver a paean to the music he obviously loves dearly. His deep harmony invites the listener to delve deep into the music he holds so close to his heart. The rhythmic chant of ‘Gimme Some More’ demands Lawler to open his musical psyche further so listeners can fully lose themselves. The EP also comprises remixes from a variety of underground house and techno artists whom Steve shares a synergy with. VIVa stalwarts Audiofly are on hand with a remix and a dub version, whilst fellow VIVa wizards Mendo and David K also give their take on the track. The EP is rounded off with And.ID and Guti remixes that complete a truly breathtaking package / Minimal / Tech-House / [10/7/2010]

Smallpeople & Rau : Meadows : Smallville : 12"
Due to their stunning releases on Underground Quality and Laid the Smallpeople aka Julius Steinhoff and Dionne are back with a real smasher. This time they catched up Christopher Rau who will be releasing his debut album on smallville very soon. The results of the dreamteam’s jamsessions are gorgeous: two never to stop tunes which will light up the dancefloor with unforgetable hooklines. Representing the Smallville Parties in Hamburg, Berlin, Paris and Tokyo the test pressings of this double a-side already created pure magic. Meadows is reduced to the essential, produced to the max - a track on point, the way deeper Life Aquatic is none the less delightful. Won’t leave your box forever. / Tech-House / [10/7/2010]

Mr. G : Extended Pain EP : Bass Culture : 12"
For Bass Culture's 10th release D'julz welcome back Gez Varley, aka Mr. G. Having first worked his recently released 'Still Here (Get Down)' artist album on Rekids, Mr. G now makes his full debut on Bass Culture with the 'Extended Pain' E.P. Two devastatingly good originals in the form of 'Sunday Blues' and 'JB's' sees the G man revisiting those classic, deeper sounds, whilst delivering the fresh and upfront tastes as only he can. Repaying the remix favour for BC003 is Esperanza boss and Bass Culture favourite, Kasper. Getting to grips with 'Sunday Blues' the Madrid man turns the smooth mood of the original on its head. Industrial sized beats, blinding rides and a preciously warped synth line, give a whole new face to already beautiful original. / Techno / [10/7/2010]

[AI031LP]
Plant 43 : Burning Decay : Ai : 12"
Burning Decay marks the culmination of a 30 year musical journey for Emile Facey. Combining deep, emotional, melodic textures and voices with razor sharp analogue drum sounds, it brings together a wealth of ideas and influences. * Music is, after all, in his blood. His great grandfather was part of a long line of passionate and professional musicians who played clarinet as part of the Royal Philharmonic and the newly formed London Symphony Orchestra in the early to mid 1900s, performing under many great composers including Elgar, Vaughan Williams and Strauss. * Emile was starting to study classical music and was hoping to follow a similar path until 1984 when he heard Kraftwerks' 'Tour de France' for the first time. His training in classical clarinet and piano was quicklyreplaced by hours spent programming music in BASIC on his brand new Sinclair Spectrum and spinning about on bits of lino to the Street Sounds Electro compilations. Following this revelation Emile spent the next 25 years feeding a passion for music of many types from Detroit techno and hip hop to metal and classical, all of which combine to create his own unique sound. * In the early 90s he started DJing and quickly caught the hardware bug, buying his first drum machines and synths and writing his own material under the name Plant43. In 2000 he co-founded London based collective Bleep43, which has become renowned for it's exceptional technoand electro lineups at Corsica Studios in London. Since2002 he's played alongside such legends as Convextion, DJ Stingray, Omar S, Surgeon, Donato Dozzy, Legowelt, Scape One and Rob Euroh as well as performing live in Athens, Riga, Turin and at the BLOC festival. * Since releasing the highly renowned Grey Sky Cracks EP on Ai Records in 2007 Emile has been steadily building an impressive discography, releasing tracks and EPs on Ai Records, Cultivated Electronics and the Madrid based underground electro label Semantica. Jodey Kendrick : Plus Ten  : Rephlex : 12"
Rephlex hooked up with Jodey Kendrick after hearing some tracks from his debut CD on Napalm Enema, out of Canada. One might say it’s very Drexciyan or Aphexy music, but that’s because it’s rooted in Rephlex’s favourite genres of New York Disco, Chicago House and Detroit Techno, though with a certain mystery something special added. Careful use of microtuning and analogue tweaking, combined with a very British pastoral quality, Jodey provides us with something pleasurable and original to listen to every time. * An extremely prolific musician, with more than 1000 tracks in the vaults, 2 double albums in the pipeline for imminent release, our journey with Jodey has only just begun. It’s exciting instrumental electronic music and the tracks on this EP are particularly good on the dance floor; as usual they have been previewed in clubs globally, from Space in Ibiza to O2 arena, where they have consistently rocked the joints. * This EP is the followup to last years ‘Indus Silver Club’ and serves as a preview for his forthcoming 2CD. * TRACKLIST: A1. 2bedroom A2. untitled1 A3. 15vac AA1. iloveronhardydisco AA2. c AA3. Monolith : Volume 1 : Rephlex : 12"
Widely heralded on messageboards as one of the best electronic/dance records of the year. Also rumoured (incorrectly, as so often the case with Rephlex releases) to be the work of Mr. A. Twin, probably due to it’s clean production and clever programming and extraordinary marriage of central music themes; melody, harmony, rhythm etc. * Monolith’s work has been one of the hottest downloads from the exclusive & independent Rephlex online shop. Whether it is the irresistible disco house anthem of ‘F-Tron’, the catchy electro of ‘Vigton’, the storming braindance of ‘Syphonivc Flash’ or the stripped down dubby ‘Livingtones’, this EP is bound to entertain across the board, having been tried and tested on dubplate at countless gigs. Monolith is part of the current Rephlex 19th birthday European Tour, in a city near you right now. * Monolith aka David Paul Barnard lives in the Wiltshire countryside: “My musical interest developed at an early age. These interests later progressed to Djing with cassette decks and over dubbing sounds which was my first attempt at music production. I follow an analogue methodology and aesthetic, married with the use of digital technologies. I make the music I want to hear. I enjoy it more than any other music, this drives me to make more. My ambition is to make my next best track. If I like something, it inspires me. The strongest elements of my tracks often have a disjointed pop sensibility, this is something I aim for.” * TRACKLIST: 1.1 F-Tron 1.2 Vigton 3stun A.1. [METHEP013]
Commix : Re:Call To Mind EP1 : Metalheadz : 2x12"
A Belleview (dBridge Belle-Reviewed Remix) dBridge is one of the only guys from the late 90s and early 00s that has evolved his sound without compromising his vision of dnb or selling out in anyway. It really feels like he’s come into his own since hooking up with Instra:mental to do the Autonomic podcasts and label, not to mention the music these guys have written together. We knew we wanted Darren to be a part of the project and with Bellevue’s minimal structure and style it seemed like the perfect track to have him remix. * B Change (A Made Up Sound Remix) David Huisman is one of the most talented producers on the scene at the moment - not only under the name 2562, but also with his house and techno orientated A Made Up Sound alias. His imprint under the same name has become one of the few labels that you can practically buy-on-sight knowing that it’s a mark of quality. So we were really pleased to have him onboard remixing our mid 90s-esque Bristol roller. * C How You Gonna Feel (Pangea Remix) We had this track for a long time as an instrumental. When writing it we drew influence from the RnB sound - from people like Dwele and Jill Scott - and Steve Spacek’s vocal complemented that style completely. For the remix we really wanted to get one of the Hessle Audio guys involved - along with Hotflush it has become our favourite “Dubstep” imprint, and Pangaea is certainly one of their brightest talents. * D Japanese Electronics (Instra:Mental Moog Remix) At the time of writing the original of this we had become pretty much obsessed with Drexciya and their many pseudonyms. So who better to call on to remix this than Instra:mental whose love of analogue synths and drum machines suited this track perfectly. Since their first track for Soul:R we knew these guys had something special about them. / Electronic / [10/7/2010]

Prince Rama  : Shadow Temple : Paw Tracks : 12"
Produced by Animal Collective's Josh Deakin and Avey Tare. * Spawned from the vernal heat of the Florida swamps amidst swirling patterns of pine orchards and pre-Columbian artefacts, Prince Rama was whispered into the ears of Taraka Larson, Nimai Larson, and Michael Collins in the summer of 2007 by the clanging of prayer bells and goat-skin drums. They left the Hare Krishna farm where they were staying to go to art school and form a creative nucleus in Boston. There, their engaging and often unpredictable ritualistic live shows attracted a rapid cult following, replete with collective chants, werewolf summonings, Sanskrit invocations, and the distribution of various handmade percussion to members of the audience. * In a short time, the trio was picked up by British-based label, Cosmos Recordings who released their first collection of lo-fi bedroom recordings as Threshold Dances and flew them out to the UK to tour and record the cinematically orchestrated Zetland. At this time, Taraka also began working for the controversial visionary artist Paul Laffoley and began composing Architecture of Utopia inspired by his paintings, an album that explores mapping utopic space via the mandalic architecture of the vinyl record. * In spring 2009 the group departed from Boston and went on a series of extensive tours across the US and Europe, culminating in a tragic car robbery in which all their equipment got stolen. Thanks to an overwhelming outpouring from friends, family, and fans, the group was catapulted to rebuild and reinvent themselves from the ground up to make a unique new sound surcharged with a renewed sense of awe, gratitude, and urgency. * The trio moved to Brooklyn, and with their new instruments wrote and recorded Shadow Temple, produced with the help of Rusty Santos and Dave (Avey Tare) and Josh (Deakin) of ANIMAL COLLECTIVE for release on Paw Tracks in September 2010. * Shadow Temple is an epic shrine of swirling synths, pulsing guitars, and thunder drums. An ethereal chorus of voices and anthemic melodies create a reverb-washed mine of sonic artefacts drawing from Southeast Asian rituals, krautrock legacies, chopped and screwed homages, hallucinatory operas, and dance hall psychedelia. Recorded in Kurt Vonnegut’s grandson’s cabin and a 135-year-old haunted church and offers itself as a sincere porthole into a mysterious realm that defies material understanding. / Electronic / [10/7/2010]

Kelpe : Margins / No Film / Toy Castle / Tap On : Team Acre : 12"
With a discography reading like a handbook for the rum and uncanny, electronica mainstay Kelpe is an obvious graduate to the Team Acre associated university of drum wrong and Mutant Fuzz. Here teaming up with multi talented human rhythm machine Chris Walmsley (Voice of The Seven Woods, Broadcast, Psapp etc) Kelpe brings an EP that balances deftly between the sound of yesterday and tomorrow. * Margins is a wriggling slice traditional drum funk. The steady gallop is haunted by holy ghost rousing keys, zap anomalies and unearthly guitar work. * No Film is a moody and low-slung drum excursion. Intricate rhythms provide the solid foundation for unsettling synthwork and fragmented stabs of citric sound. Toy Castle is pure bounce, the pounding kicks push the soundscape through the dance which the sonic scenery is littered with hidden artifacts. * The final excursion here it a trip to the lab with Taps On. Initially the most soothing of the bunch giving nods to Dilla or ATCQ more soulful offerings. Taps On continues it’s journey through cut n paste territories and rhythmic breakdown. All together a potent brew of electronic voodoo. / Electronic / Hip Hop / [10/7/2010]

Nicolas Jaar : Love You Gotta Loose Again : Double Standard : 10"
If you haven’t already been introduced, be prepared to be astounded by the truth and beauty in the music of Nicolas Jaar. ‘Love You Gotta Lose Again’ is a special edition 10 inch all white vinyl and Double Standard’s fourth release in an outstanding run of body loosening musical creations on Gadi Mizrahi’s pioneering imprint. Kicking o  with the unhurried  ssures of ‘WOUH’, a time stopping piece set to distract and provoke new observations with each listen. Typical of Jaar’s pieces, ‘WOUH’ threads sparse arrangements, quirky gulps of sound and electric ambiance in a complex tapestry of engul ng harmony. The anthemic ‘Love You Gotta Lose Again’ moves into contrasting boundless activity with broken beats, triumphant singing and pleasant guitar licks. The track is laden with allure and magnetism and made for endless enjoyment at any time. ‘Don’t Believe The Hype’ retreats into mystique again - a cascading mass of body moving sound simmering with broodiness and secrecy, it is short, sharp and succinct in its action to arouse the listener’s senses. Nicolas Jaar will release two of these original cuts of his ‘Inés’ compilation this winter, through his own Clown & Sunset imprint, while the captivating ‘WOUH’ is exclusive to this release. Recently hailed a ourishing young star by the Guardian newspaper, 20 year old Jaar is inspiring ears and eyes around the world with his original musical approach. Born in NYC where he currently resides, his early years spent in Chile created a multi-cultural nature to his music that resonates far and wide. / Experimental / Minimal / Broken Beat / [10/7/2010]

Shlomi Aber : Chicago Days Detroit Nights : Ovum : 2x12"
Recognized as one of the main techno pioneers and influential artists of the recent time, Shlomi has the kind of impact usually reserved for inbound meteors, the reason for which is buried in a ground swell of genre-defying appreciation and support. a comment taken from a recent “Radio 1” interview provides a probable insight as to why his productions are hitting such a broad mark, “No matter if it’s hard or soft, it just needs to touch your mind, body and soul at the same time. That's what I call a ‘Good Record’.” * This personal approach, married with 12 years production experience that takes influence from jazz, funk, minimal, acid and, in particular the old school Detroit techno movement. Aber has created some of the most recognizable and unique techno of modern times. Means he boasts some of the world’s most prestigious labels on his ever-expanding CV: Cocoon, Ovum, R&S and Renaissance to name but a few. Tracks such as Sea Of Sand, After Love and Tel Aviv Garden have become engraved on Top 10 bestseller lists all over, whilst his release "Crop Duster" has already been described by every aspects as ‘…a classy piece of Underground fodder…,’ not to mention his worldwide funky techno anthem with Ovum Recordings, "Freakside," which became his trademark as " the biggest club track of 2007 " * The accolades from the press don’t end there either; his sets have also been cited for their unique ability to cohesively traverse genres; DJmag positively wrote in a profile article, ‘Shlomi's sets are full with warm and unique sounds that makes you feel like you are going back to the better days of music, it was something I can’t define just by one word, if I must I will call it something between house and techno. With his fascinating technical skills, accurate programming and music selection, you can just feel the magic in the air.’ Quite a statement. * Growing from the classic Tel Aviv “90’s underground dance scene”, shlomi rise through the DJ ranks of his native environment is the house fairytale in its purest form, beginning with throwing regular parties for his mates in his parents' garage when he was just 14!, support soon developed and he was able to take on bigger underground venues and increase his local profile to massive events such as the Love Parade, Gay Parade, Dance & Levis and many others. * After another successful EP release in 2010, Shlomi finally brings us his debut album on Ovum “Chicago Days/Detroit Nights”. Shlomi really shows his diversity on this LP from the driving main floor monsters of Groove Mechanism to the melodic beauty of Taped and Gorgeous. Shlomi takes you on a journey and shows why he is one of the most sought after and respected producers at the moment. / House / [10/7/2010]
