[DET15]
Samuel L Session : Blue Ripple EP : Detelefunk : 12"
Sweden’s veteran DJ & producer Samuel L Session makes his first appearance on Detelefunk with the “Blue Ripple EP". A gem of a single that keeps things deep, yet for the dancefloor, showing his unique blend of the Techno & House genres. Starting production back in 1997 with his own Cycle imprint he broke into the music scene with releases such as “In Your Box” & “Check Out This I Bring". It wasn’t long before his production skills were in demand from many other labels, and he released singles on labels such as Kanzleramt, Phont, Hardgroove, and Monoid. As things started to take off he started his 2nd label, SLS, on which he had even more success with tracks like “Merengue". As his production developed he decided in 2006 start a new label, Klap Klap, to focus more on the direction his music was taking him, a funkier, deeper sound. This resulted in yet another worldwide hit with “Can You Relate” featuring the Detroit Grand Pubahs own Paris The Black FU, being picked up by DJs such as Steve Rachmad, Joris Voorn, Slam to name a few. Remix requests soon followed getting attention with his remixes of Funk D’ Void’s “Diablo” on Soma + Blake Baxter & Trevor Rocklife’s “Visions Of You” on Carl Cox’s label Intec. Producers such as Kevin Saunderson, Jerome Sydenham, Audio Soul Project, Len Faki and Alexi Delano among others, all had their music tweaked and remade by the man. Blue Ripple is a groovy tech house extravaganza, teasing throughout with alluring strings. While Staccato & Odyssey pick the pace up more and head for those late night peak time dancefloors with, driving kicks & filtered stabs. With support for his productions from DJs like Laurent Garnier, Rolando, Francois Kevorkian, Christian Smith and Adam Beyer amoungst many others, Blue Ripple is set to send tiddle waves through the dance scene, not ripple’s! [ECLIPSE004]
Passenger [Estroe / Paul Mac] : Black Varian Remixes : Eclipse Music : 12"
Italian based eclipsemusic's fourth outing comes with a serious release courtesy of passEnger, talented artist whose productions can be heard on Night Drive Music, Paul Mac's Sula Muse, LOGOS Recordings and Echoplex's Soleil. This new 12” confirms his interest in the deepest and more underground side of Detroit Techno. “Black Varian” was the highlight of his digital-only release on Radiance Records back in 2008. Eclipsemusic's label manager instantly fell in love with it, and now, improved and remastered by Aaron-Carl (Wallshaker, Detroit), Black Varian finally lands on vinyl. With its evolving and ear-catching sweet strings, its delayed cascades of cymbals and piano's, swinging synth lines and subtle bassline, this is already a little new classic for the label, crossing the borders between Detroit techno and deep, groovy house. The release is completed by two strong remixes: Paul Mac strips down the original and builds a dancefloor number keeping a few catching elements for massive impact. Just out on Connaisseur with her new album, Estroe takes the track on an emotional ride creating new harmonic vibes while keeping the deepness intact. [9/15/2010]

Mik Izif vs Funny Ox : Run : O.Ton  : 12"
O.TON Is still growing up!!! We have finally managed to get two hottest french producers, Mik Izif and Funny Ox, for this new and exclusive release on O.TON Records. « RUN » is simply made to drive a dancefloor mad, with its LFO bassline and these steady climatic  harmony loops behind. The flipside belongs to Funny Ox: a great and groovy remix of « RUN » with all it needs to keep a crowd pleased and aware. O.TON 04 is the perfect Minimal techno record! But what else would you expect... Enjoy! [9/15/2010]

Paul Ritch : Cannibals EP #2 : Quartz Music : 12"
It may only be 12 releases old, but Quartz Records has already become one of the 'go to' imprints for those seeking quality modern Techno and that is down to the hard work and fantastic a&r'ing of label chief Paul Ritch. The label was launched by Ritch himself with his 'Split EP' and after featuring music from the likes of Dubfire, Thomas Muller, Slam, Hermanez, Nic Fanciulli, David K & Jerome Pacman, Carlo Lio and label manager Okain, we come full circle with Paul's incredible 'Canniballs: Part 2' EP. January's 'Canniballs EP' was an instant hit and its tracks including 'The Lick' and 'Suffolk' have become staple regulars in the sets and charts of the biggest names. Part 2 is another superb selection of treats. 'Spirit' with its sweeping atmospheric, metallic percussion and abrasive synths, rolls brilliantly with its funky bassline. 'Bomberos' opens with a darker feeling. Its tough drums, bells and vocal sample lead us to its sily key riff which, when joined by the tracks bassline, takes it to another level. Closing the EP is 'Modelo'. The most sinister of the three cuts, its a melting pot of sounds and efx. Industrial in its opening, its scything sounds are joined by haunting string stabs and a final siren [9/15/2010]

[RISQUEE22]
Jichael Mackson : Just In Time : Risquee : 12"
After 3 years of long and painfull waiting our firiend Jichael Mackson is now back on Musique Risquée with 2 new great songs that we are happy to present here with this new release entitled Just In Time . On the A side Locus Pocus is what you can call a hard edged hypnotic techno track: loopy, bleepy, trippy and squiddly diddly. The B side, entitled Sugar Hill Mountain, is what you can call a deep, warm and moody ambiant song: shiny, airy, velvety and mushy gushy. Check it yourselves. It’s really worth the listening as it was worth the waiting. Tracklist: A: Locus Pocus , B: Sugar Hill Mountain [9/15/2010]

[STRIKE118CD]
Soul Center : General Eclectics : Shitkatapult : CD
THOMAS BRINKMANN breathes new life into his stellar side project SOUL CENTER and Berlin-based label SHITKATAPULT feels privileged to release the good work. Don’t be mislead by the album’s title, though. Taken literally, GENERAL ECLECTICS will lead you astray not once, but twice. While the cover might allude to local noise merchants EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN’s infamous HAUS DER LÜGE sleeve and PAOLO UCCELLO’S horse’s rear, the album’s inner sleeve is covered in maps, footballs, cigarette, butts, priests … each replete with their own rich history. Take the ashtray, for example: a work of art in itself („Mein Kippenberg“) that is both light-hearted and laden with meaning. It is Brinkmann’s sense of appropriation (the eclectic side of things), his interpretation of art/music/ image/sound, that provides the red thread to connect the individual parts – and concept – of this album. Unlike SOUL CENTER’s previous works, the featured music is almost entirely devoid of samples and returns to a deep melange of techno’s richer funk and soul flavours. Seriously – this is funkier than anything we have heard in ages. BRINKMANN sets a course with this album to the slidely tired techno circus. From the album’s slowed-down opener, “MARMELADE”, right up to the final hands-in-the-air stomper “DYR BUL SCYL”. For this album only two tracks include significant vocal usage and this time the artist underlines the background of the lyrics. ALEKSEIKRUCHENYKH (dyr bul scyl) and VLADIMIR MAJAKOVSKY (shum(ichi)) are two of the main writers of the russian futurism of the 1920s. And we all need some more russian futurism these days. Gabriel Ananda : Carming & Alarming : Basmati : 12"
In fact, it’s not even supposed to have a release sheet like this one. But sometimes, you’re even too modest to stay away. So, what’s it all about? Well, the music, of course. And only the music. Organic stuff, so to speak. Tracks made by pure immersion. No plans, no blueprints. Just going with the flow, unleashing the inner krautrock while staying true to the basics of techno. Here is Gabriel’s new 4-tracker. Inhale. [9/15/2010]

Johannes Heil : Loving : Cocoon : 2x12"
“To share and to increase the love, to let the soul speak through the music, is a feeling which can hardly be described with words. With “Loving", I want to embrace the whole world, because this journey to the origins of electronic dance music in between Modern Detroit, high tech Soul and House is coming from the very bottom of my heart.” (Johannes Heil, 2010) What time is love? With this question, Jimmy Cauty and Bill Drummond - better known as “The KLF” - have officially introduced the acid-orientated second Summer of Love 1988. However, the answers to this question might be numerous as the number of people living on the earth. Some think that it is the Summer of 1967, where the Hippie movement had its peak, others may hope for the perfect love in 2525 or maybe the time of love is now, in the year 2010. Obviously, Johannes Heil belongs to the latter group. For more than fifteen years, he is an essential part of the German Techno scene and - with his classics from the likes of “Paranoid Dancer” (Kanzleramt, 1998) or “Calling” (1999) - belongs to the acoustic long-term memory of Techno. However, in the last few years with his releases for Klang Elektronik, Anthony Rother’s Datapunk label and several own imprints like JH Records, Metatron or, most recently, Shit happens, Johannes remained one of the guarantors for musical enhancements. With his eleventh studio album “Loving", Heil is taking stock of his 15 years of musical past, in a modern and at the same time traditional way. He uses influences from Detroit House only superficially, the history of modern dance music that he tells is that of music as the universal language between all continents. So, one can find African chants in a marching rhythm ("Hallelujah") as well as terrific pumping pizzicato strings ("The Ace"), hypnotically dancefloor-binding sub bass runners like “To The Groove” or Samba percussion tracks with marching band citations ("Glockenspiel") and Detroit high tech House ("Freedom Of Heart") [9/15/2010]

Phonique [Guti / Sasse] : Perfect Stranger : Dessous : 12"
Our main man Phonique comes back strong with his next straight up killer on Dessous. Really needing no introduction, the veteran of the underground house scene throws us in at the deep end with this brand new release. ‚Perfect Stranger‘ is taken from his new album ‘Kissing Strangers’ and is a powerful, modern house cut reflecting the many eschews of Phonique‘s intricate sound. Blending raw, soulful throw-downs with tight and crisp next-level production, perfect for those later night moments where rave is the only option! Sharp stabs cut through the mix and addictive vocal stutters flavour this energetic club track to perfection. Phonogenic & Sasse are both mainstays of the European house scene in their own right. Together they carefully craft a ear-tingling remix - ever so funky, clear and direct. Layering smooth bass and wicked percussion with expertly selected elements from the original, they whip up a deep storm as the mix progresses. Guti is the South American talent enjoying a recent boom with his post-tribal, neo-minimal grooves. He remixes ‚Perfect Stranger‘ into a roaring percussive journey, full of tumbling congas, dramatic fills and fx. Its a heady, psychedelic mix for thelater hours… where Guti really comes into his own! Remote : Zip : Foundation : 12"
"When was the last time you were properly surprised by a record ?  We think Parisian duo Remote pulled out that kind of trick here. A tiny dot in an ocean of bongo-tech-house, an outcry of disapproval of the far-too-widespread uniformity of today's club music, this is what this EP is.  After Tristesse Contemporaine's shoegazer rock anthem "51 Ways To Leave Your Lover", Fondation resumes its journey through alternative genres of party music, going for schizo electro-organic mutant disco this time around.  A-side is pure filth juice; those who know Remote's previous numbers will feel home with the track that could be considered the duo's finest number to date. What "Zip" will be remembered for is its bass line, no doubt about it. And when, bar after bar, it ends up coming all together, all you can hope for is a seriously dramatic break, as it's the only way to relieve such a pressure. And this is what you get. On the flip is a part of the spectrum hardly ever explored yet, neither by the duo nor the imprint with the capital F.  "Scinax" may as well be the future of electro-funk, closing the gap between eighties synth-pop epicness and those nerdy NYC rooftop summer tunes .Don't expect it to cool you down though, too busy it is burning up the dance-floor, crowd included. "Bookham" is the proof a track can be light without being lame, catchy without going all cliché. In a nutshell: pop without being predictible. You'll soon be willing to thank Remote for this record as you'd thank life for blessing you with another never-ending warm summer night." [9/15/2010]

[HIGHGRADE081]
Andri : Never End EP : Highgrade : 12"
A drum roll announces the arrival of Swiss artist and producer Andri to the Highgrade family. And the drums are something we can take literally, as the regular player on the Zurich party scene experimented for seven years with his own drums. Later the drum sticks were traded in for the “Music 2000“ program on Playstation, before Andri finally discoverd the mixing desk. The common thread among this musical history is a love for beats and rhythm, something that strongly influences his sets today. He was quickly recognised for the energy of his Live sets, creating a name both in Switzerland and outside its boarders. As a producer, he has impressed colleagues and experts alike with his musical output, especially with his EP “The Change“. In his latest work and debut release with Highgrade, “Never End“ - Andri mixes samples, beats and sexy voices into a coherent platform for an endless groove. Creating a vivid and imaginative window into the cinematic mind of the dancefloor, the tracks “Never End“, “Rumpelstelz“, “Dr. Drive“and “Pimpin Bell“ all feature pulsing funk laden basslines, bionic rhythms and various samples that evoke a light hearted feeling of passion and enjoyment. The fun that Andri has at the controls is clearly evident and obviously endless… As the name suggests, “Never End“ is the best proof. [9/15/2010]

Trentemoller [Kollektiv Turmstrasse / Pantha Du Prince] : Even Though You're With Another Girl Rmx : In My Room : 12"
Even Though You‘re With Another Girl‘ is the amazing second single to be taken from Trentemøller‘s stunning new album ‚Into The Great Wide Yonder‘. After the huge reaction to the beautiful longplayer, which mixes classic Trentemøller production mastery with more of an analogue, song based, indie-feel, it’s time to carry on with this intriguing set of remixes. Side by side comes a hot 12‘‘ that features remixes by Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Pantha Du Prince. The Kollektive‘ s half of the record slaps a heavy dose of deep, dark funk into the mix, with this ingenious lo-slung version. Postminimal- punk electronic drums meet warbling synths and reduced, subliminal use of the vocals in a delicate and stylish mixture of pop-meets-deepest-electronica. Dial‘s man of the hour Pantha Du Prince creates a typically high-end remix based on his trademark twinkling melodies and warmly grooving understated beats. The Dub version twists and turns with unpredictable laid-back intensity as a rousing chorus of strings and harmonic elements fuse under dubbed out vocal elements. DJ Kaos [Dr Dunks / Tvs & Aera] : Horny Morning Loop : Jolly Jams : 12"
Tune into “JOLLY JAMS", finally DJ KAOS very own imprint! The very first release “HORNY MORNING LOOP” by DJ Kaos features mixes by Eric Duncan and TVS & Aera. The first mix comes by Eric Duncan, who is part of Rub n Tug & Still Going, runs his own label C.O.M.B.I and remixed several artists under the aliases Dr Dunks and Keep it Cheap. Kaos met Eric D in NYC for the first time, before Rub n Tug was born. He was a DJ at a bar called “Passerby". The parties there where kind of sick, always crazy and till very late! Back then, Kaos heard Erics mix CD “Rui’s Place” and was really stoked about the sound. They started to hang out and DJ together here and there!!! On the flip we have a mix by Till Von Sein, who is well known for his production and DJ skills. He released a bunch of killer singles recently. A while ago, Kaos was cruising around town and bumped into Till while he was playing an amazing DJ set. He was so blasted that he had to ask him for his remix duties! “The most important thing for me after all these years is to be INDEPENDENT as much as possible and to release music of my buddys, like minded artists and of course my own stuff” Peace, Kaos [9/15/2010]

Olene Kadar : Filthy Rich : Mo's Ferry : 12"
Finally, the live virtuoso Olene Kadar is back again with release #4 on his homebase Mo’s Ferry! Not only the really massive kick makes the A-side “Deal” a true stomper, that might put a smile on every Detroit fans face…also A Guy Called Gerald would be thrilled! Kadar uses common sounds and styles to stack his own unconventional sound-building - his own “House". Driving is probably the adjective that can express most accurately what constitutes the eight and a half minutes track with its funky organ chords. The B-side “Sot:2″ contains an equally virtuoso Ass-Shaker. Somewhere between industrial aesthetics of the reverberated snare and the indefinable squawking sound its elements combine into a multi-dimensional piece of “club therapy” full of extremes. The unity of groovy kick and bass constitutes a high contrast to the vast extending percussion that moves at times in dramatic and absurd dimensions. Approaching the drop, the almost out of control snare rolls and percussion drown any crowd in their own sweat dripping from the ceiling. [9/15/2010]

[MINUS95]
Hearthrob & Troy Pierce : Square One : Minus : 12"
FIRST PRESSING WITH LIMITED COLORED SLEEVE!!! The devil is in the details. Three years after their successful Minus “Vs” release, “Square One” marks a return to a long standing collaboration between Troy Pierce and label mate Jesse Siminski aka “Heartthrob". The release is inspired by the duo’s new performance moniker of the same name, which combines DJ-ing along with live performance elements. The three detail oriented tracks wind their way through tense, angular synths, solid drum programing, dusty droning sound spheres and swinging dissonant cords. Humorous, upfront, and chaotic at times, these productions are not afraid to stand apart and cause a full on freak out. The title track “Square One” (A1) is a beast that utilizes stomping rock inspired drums that are tweaked and played off of a boiling hot synthesizer line to the tracks apex. Throughout, the focus is on dance floor pressure, as sharp high hats and sleazy drum rolls dodge analog noise bursts. Driven by tight sub bass, it is a unique take on Troy’s intricate grooves, fused with Jesse’s penchant for over the top melody and composition. This track is not for the timid dance floor. While B1 “Puka Haole” (which means white devil’s hole in Hawaiian) is another sinister builder. A funky growling Moog bass melody who’s filters open and close suggestively around broken beats carries the loose arrangement. Heavy snare rolls cut through and give order to polyphonic synth blasts. The atmosphere is electric and tense with delay lines and a soaring banshee choir. Ultimately a swinging melody brings even more energy to the anxious air of the track until it disintegrates. Building from the first two cuts is “Island Rumors” (B2), another stormer that shares the same cutting percussion and tough sub bass foundation as the other tracks but has a lighter disposition. “Island Rumors” dives headlong into tight jacking house beats, but pairs them with alternating ominous and uplifting synth chords. Solead [Okain] : Wander EP : Metroline Limited : 12"
Big room Ibiza vibes abound on this killer EP from Solead, the Parisian duo who have provided Metroline with some of the labels most outstanding releases. In Musica, tumbling beats and a melange of Cuban pianos, horns and flutes play over a very robust rhythms to create an atmospheric big room builder. The tune’s unpredictable, jazz arrangements give it plenty of movement, while the heavy piano licks and solid build-ups give it that “down-on-your-knees-at-Circo-Loco” magic. Title track Wander keeps the pace going, this time with more expansive vocals and some ridiculously catchy whistling which, along with the loose percussion, gives the track a light summer vibe. Okain sexes things up a bit on his remix of Wander. Underpinning the track with a bubbling, undulating bassline, he restricts the vocals to suggestive snippets and moans while letting subtle pads draw you in. Ooh baby! Topping of the EP is Slip Into, a tough club track with serious energy and an infectious bouncing synth hook and a twisted little bassline. Not to be overlooked! [9/15/2010]

Lee Curtiss : And We All Fall Down EP : Supplement Facts : 12"
Supplement Facts Records continue their rich run of form by handing a label debut to Detroit-native Lee Curtiss. The ‘And We All Fall Down’ EP has been one of the most hotly anticipated from the Israeli label and is set to become the soundtrack to the last echoes of summer. We continue to dance, as the days grow short our nights become longer and Lee’s EP is the perfect accompaniment…. ‘I Can Hear You Arthur’, a tribute to one of Lee’s long-time music heroes, Arthur Russell, is an emotional escape. With Russell being a direct sound-inspiration for the release, we are treated to a longing for a far away love. With waves of sound that build and cascade, accompanied by pillow-talk whisperings, all creating eight minutes of rhythmic, warm grooves…. Arthur never sounded better… After the body-swaying vibes of the A, Side B brings the perspirec-electronic throb and hip-grinding action of Labor of Love. After yearning for Arthur, we are more than appeased with the beautifully sultry and ever so intimate vocals of Stephanie Selvaggio. With it’s rhythmic guitar opening belying it’s true intention, Labor of Love develops into a sensual dancefloor cut with Stephanie’s vocals floating effortlessly with the acidic beats as she drives us ‚Crazy’…."And We All Fall Down” is a perfect example of an artist at his most vunerable. Its brutally honest sound invites the listener in with open arms and wraps itself around them like a warm cashmere blanket. As the brutal realisation that summer is almost over starts to sink in…its worth taking comfort in records like this, that make the transition that much easier. [9/15/2010]

STL : Mistakes Are Made For Everyone : Something : 12"
The Something Vinyl Series continues this time with seductive House tunes and deep moments for the dancefloor and places beyond. Five tracks and four bonus loops makes this the next typical warm vibrating Something record, you have probably already expected. As the title suggests, it´s not a perfect clean and faultless production. There is the dirt and a sound inhabitant, for what STL records are well known for. Experimentations in the worlds of hardware based tone generators and at the limits of analog signal processors. The tracks also deliberately dispense much static computer arrangements and were recorded mostly in live sessions to capture the actual feeling for each song. Every being is a universe of it´s own, with all it´s known and unknown places. There are mistakes and inner strangers which are made to learn and grow. This record is a recent snapshot from someone´s life, where the love for music and sound is maybe the most beautiful mystery [9/15/2010]

Following the first stem from the bronze forest [Padurea de Arama], Yojik goes exploring the next hierarchy of soundscapes in the silver forest [Padurea de Argint]. First pEnsemble manifests its musical intentions through ‘Imparatul Verde’, the green King, who rules his nation of harmony and serenity by capturing detailed nuances of his organic melodic kingdom, where creatures may dream and interact. But on the other side of this kingdom is his prodigal son [fiul risipitor] who reveals himself in capricious manner making a statement of his own accord. He steps with confident rhythm and alerts the kingdom with his firm and tempered mood. But if you are attentive enough, you will hear that deeply within he is bowing graciously with kindness. V/A Mixed by Marco Resmann : Upon You Diary No.1 : Upon You : CD
In just a few years’ time, Berlin’s Upon You has established itself as a leading figure in European club culture, not just as a label for its 35+ well received 12″ EPs, but also for its curated nights at world-renowned spots like Berghain, Watergate and Arena Club. With their combined experience of producing, DJing and promoting, company founders Marco Resmann, Marcus Meinhardt and Hawks Grunert have formed a powerhouse whose´momentum shows no signs of slowing down. In spite of (and perhaps because of) its unpigeonholeable stylistic approach, Upon You has become a respected source for all DJs and clubbers in search of forward-thinking sounds, and now with its first full-length compilation, the label offers a succinct overview for both followers and newcomers. Upon You Diary No. 1 has been compiled by Marco Resmann (half of LunaCity Express) and is split into two parts: the first features 13 new, Exclusive tracks from the label’s roster including The Cheapers, Re-UP, ONNO and Mathias Mesteño. The second part, showcasing Resmann’s dynamic DJ ability, is meticulously stitched together using elements of 25 tracks from Upon You’s back catalog, including contributions by Holger Zilske, Catz ‘n Dogz, Mathias Kaden, Luna City Express and many other respected names. On the surface, the artists on Diary No. 1 clearly follow the tradition of techno and house music, but it’s clear that many of them use these forms as merely a starting point for further auditory exploration. From tropical acid and tribal grooves to somber dub and hypnotic minimal, it’s clear that Upon You doesn’t hold any purist attitudes, and in fact, cross-pollination is encouraged: check Channel X’s be-bop hoedown “Rodeo” and the laid-back blue-eyed funk of “Together” by Marek Hemmann. Diary serves as both an up-to-date survey of Upon You in 2010 as well as a reflection on its origins, with the knowledge that there are many blank pages to be filled out as we push forward into the future of dance music. Sascha Dive : Restless Nights : Deep Vibes : 2x12"
Time and again, when everything appears to have come to a complete standstill, you will find yourself seriously wondering what the future of electronic club music is going to be like. What will come next? And it was at that very moment when suddenly a new record appeared on the market to satisfy this longing for new, fresh sounds: Sascha Dive’s “The Basic Collective Pt. 1″. In the meantime, almost 4 years and innumerable releases later, a new genre of house music has developed from and around the concept of this young, highly inspired Frankfurt-based artist. This sound is characterized by dark, driving rhythms with clear references to the U.S. American house music of the 1990s. The German Groove magazine called it “Rhein-Main-House"- a very accurate term to describe this movement. But Sascha Dive’s success story goes far beyond and overseas: He is the only “white producer” who was given the honour of getting a remix version made by no other than the grandmaster of house music: Moodymann himself.Sascha Dive has been successful both as a producer, and as a DJ. When you talk with him about club music, and in particular house music, you almost get the impression of talking to a human encyclopaedia. His expert knowledge combined with his definition of contemporary club tunes makes his sets a unique experience. He takes the audience on a trip towards the future and the past, and at the end of the night gently back into the here and now again. A couple of years ago, in spite of his busy schedule and the time he would spend in his studio, Sascha Dive decided to found his own label “Deep Vibes Recordings", and to do his own research in the aesthetics of contemporary house sounds. Varoslav [Carlo Lio / Marco Resman] : Ghost Voyager Remixes : Jet'Aime : 12"
Since his first vinyl release back in 2008 the Parisian producer VAROSLAV has been carving his own sound. 'Groovy, sexy and energetic' are words that have been used to describe his style, and he can move from creating the most delicate of house to the energetic and mature sounds of techno with ease. Skills that have also seen him perform his task as A&R for Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts label with great success.'Ghost Voyager' sees Varoslav drop two, tough, dancefloor driven cuts. The title track opens with its tough beats and tight funk guitar licks. A warped and wobbly stab, and trippy flute line enter the fray as a thunder clap announces the vocal and warm keys. The cavernous break refreshes before we drop back into the track.'Fake Beauties' with its bubbling bass, fluid motion and open hats, is a more low slung affair. Its popping beats envelop the bassline, creating a locked on groove. The twisted chimes in the break create a spooky atmosphere, as we drop back into the groove. Our two superb originals are backed brilliantly by a diverse mix package. In form Canadian producer Carlo Lio takes on 'Ghost Voyager' a surprisingly deep yet rolling rework. A weighty groove drives the mix as Carlo chops up the vocal and adds a splash of the keys. Next up, Marco Resmann steps off the Luna City Express to deliver his take on the title track. A smooth groove, open hats and key stabs pave the way for the heavy kick drum. Deep, trippy and delightful [9/15/2010]

[MOOD092]
Penner & Muder : Same Monkeys Different Zoo : Mood Music : 12"
Taken from the album, we have 3 single cuts from the critically acclaimed producer team of Nils Penner and John Muder. Following the highly successful EPs on their Wazi Wazi label, Moodmusic released the debut album “Same Monkeys Different Zoo” in June 2010 . “Let The Music Play” starts the day with the melancholic yet uplifting feel of late night dancing, arranged to perfection and already a hotrodded missile in the dj-boxes of Sascha Funke, Dave DK and Sasse. Following with “Time Has Come”, a deep vocal driven track to nail the floor and a firm favourite here in the Moodmusic offices since we got our hands on the album. “Across My Heart” is a fine ending to the EP with it´s nicely punctuated vocal hook and filtered synthlines, building a real late night chugger ! And as an special treat we have „Absence“ – a proven winner in the recent live sets of Penner+Muder - a heavy groover with female vocals and a murder bassline – a pure Penner+Muder experience ! Watch out ! [9/15/2010]

[SONG04]
Public Lover : Musique D'hiver Pour L'ete : Thesongsays : 12"
Public Lover (Bruno Pronsato & Ninca Leece) locked themselves away in their quiet Prenzlauer Berg studio in January. Their mission: creating music for summer. We feel they were overwhelmingly successful. Musique D’Hiver Pour L’Été is all about warm instrumentation with a special emphasis on an intentional lo-fi production. you might hear the recording process - a transparency in process to bring you personally into their studio. it might even be a statement in an age of digitalism and overproduction. It rides the line between romantic techno and sultry disco. It’s a record to grind with your lover to in the hottest clubs of summer, it’s also one to put on while laying half naked in the sun, or djing at your mother’s bbq. Keeping in line with Ninca and Bruno’s solo work, there is also the elements of the so-called, ‘accidentally avant-garde,’ one of the cornerstones of thesongsays. More importantly, however, there is the underlying theme of romanticism and elegance. Ninca’s balmy vocals and jazzy keyboard hooks are the backdrop for a night on the town while Bruno’s tight rhythm section is the reason to go home and wrap up with your lover. As a digital bonus, our man Anthony Collins turns up the heat on the dancefloor side of things with an ambitious and strikingly emotional remix of We Are. Taking the bare bones of the track and adding his own musical genius to the mix. [9/15/2010]

[VULT021]
Visitor [Alan Braxe Remix] : Los Feeling : Vulture : 12"
‘Bristling with a thousand tiny moments of precision pop, crystal clear production and a host of euphoric heartfelt melodies, Visitor release debut single Los Feeling on June 21st.  Los Feeling - an ode to growing up and growing apart - is a dashing display of zeitgeist melodrama that is as danceable as it is moving. B-side Love is a more minimal slice of late night dancefloor pop, chugging beneath your feet and tugging at your heartstrings. Visitor believe that dancing like nothing matters is no excuse for songs that mean nothing, and it is this blend of craft and crunch that first attracted French dance-don Alan Braxe. As well as releasing their debut single on his own Vulture label, Braxe is dishing up one of his classic remixes for the single package; a typically adroit dose of sparkling electro house, destined to grab our dancefloors and airwaves this summer. Ibex : Meltdown EP : Yore : 12"
Yore welcomes ” IBEX ” to the Yore Family. Tony Ollivierra aka Ibex, who is no stranger at all to the world of Detroit House music, known for his outstanding releases on Carl Craigs ” Planet E ” or his hot gems on 3rd Ear and Rushhour, returns in full effect on our 26th release. Here he brings us four tracks, so deep (and yet grooving without a doubt), unique and full of class, that it still leaves us simply speechless. The music on this EP is so rich and full of musical idea’s, like we haven’t heard it since a very long time. One can tell you need history and expertise behind to drop something like this and Ibex sure has what it takes. He’s been releasing high quality house music since early 2000 and has been touring as a DJ since the mid nineties, which all you can sense in his music. This is one of our personal favourite releases so far and we can only strongly recommend to get your copy while they last. Killer EP not to be missed and already a classic today! [9/15/2010]

«IN ALTO MARE» was on of the biggest Italian hits of the 80's performed by LOREDANA BERTE - member of the biggest artists of all time - made in Italy know this song. In 2004 «IN ALTO MARE» gets revisted and retwisted in a new millennium version produced by 2BLACK feat. WENDY LEWIS, who transformed the song in... a bilingual song with funky lyrics and original Italian chorus. And once again it was one of the biggest hits in summer 2004 and licensed worldwide in almost all countries. Now it's time again to revamp the song but this time in a pure JAMIE LEWIS & PURPLE MUSIC style in collaboration with the VISUALBOYS & STEFANO MATTARA. Filippson & Ulysses : Escape From New York : Internasjonal Spesial : 12"
A major global player in all things futuristic disco Prins Thomas Internasjonal imprint is further branching out and diversifying with its brand new spanking series INTERNASJONAL SPESIAL. the a-side sees the proven and tested multi-national team of Reykjavik born HOLMAR FILIPSON of Thugfucker and Crack & Speed fame and NY party veteran ULYSEES ( one half of Neurotic Drum Band ) pushing the agenda of joining the dots globally with the soon-to-be-classic emotive eletronic disco cut “Escape from New York". Starting out as a leisurely paced electro boogie cut with sentimental string chords, additional e-guitar loops and haunting synth noises leak in a dark 80’s pop sensibility a la My Bloody Valentine. Also the b-side by Valentinoland - Holmar Filipsson partnering this time with Arni runar Hlodversson of FM Belfast fame - is nothing short of truely exceptional but more on the dulcet side with a gut-wrenching string-lead melody in classic balearic sunset style.
