Craggz & Parallel : Turn The Page : Product : CD
September signals a welcome return to the scene by two of D&B’s most respected characters, Craggz & Parallel, and it couldn’t have come a moment too soon. Since releasing their debut ‘Northern Soul’ LP on Valve back in 2006 the pair have stepped back, regrouped and are now ready to come full force with a brand new super-fresh sound that’s sure to raise heads throughout the scene. Drawing on influences from electronic music past and present from early techno sounds, 80’s synth-pop through to a myriad of contemporary dance music genres, Craggz & Parallel have created a truly unique and daring album sure to quench the most discerning and dance floor tastes whilst challenging the more traditional drum and bass album ideals. Even reverting back to analogue production techniques to combine with the modern creates an experience unlike any other around today so keep you ears open for the genius new sounds of Craggz & Parallel. “I don’t really say things like this much, but Craggz & Parallel are about to flip D&B on its head…” Breakage “Analogue synths, drum machines & +170bpm = Top album. C&P FTW!!” dBridge “Craggz & Parallel have taken a bold step towards a much deeper, more mature and personal sound; locking themselves away for 2 years has resulted in a truly inspirational album that will turn a lot of heads. One of the best releases in 2010 by some way, this definitely gets the Flight seal of approval.” DJ Flight 01 Craggz & Parallel - Turn The Page 02 Craggz & Parallel - Release 03 Craggz & Parallel - Chamber 04 Craggz & Parallel - Slave feat. Klute : Music For Prophet : Commercial Suicide : 3x12"
Limited edition Triple coloured vinyl, Klute’s first album in 2 years titled ‘Music for Prophet’, on his own ‘Commercial Suicide’ imprint. As on his previous albums, Klute stays true to himself with another non-commercial, yet 100% dancefloor friendly longplayer that – just like his excellent dj sets – offers the right balance of musical tunes alongside some real heavy hitters. Tom Withers, started back in 1994, i think when he was asked for a name to keep exclusive to Certificate 18 records when they agreed on 2 tracks to be his first single. It was there he stayed until 2000 when he delivered his 2nd final album for Cert 18 called Fear Of People. At this point in time Tom decided to make a change and realising no one else was interested in releasing his music decided to set up his own label. With his own platform set up he realized anything was possible, he could even release music by other idiots. Which he did. Perhaps too much. An interesting fact no one knows about Tom Klute is that he is the world’s leading composer of Airport music. Most of you who’ve travelled the friendly skys will have unknowingly heard his works at one time or another. Now we come to 2010 and Klute is ready for fucking more, and more it is with his 6th album “Music for Prophet”. All of Klute’s previous albums have been released to critical acclaim and this one will not stand behind, showing that Klute’s consistency as an artist reaches into 2010 and beyond. The album which also features a collaboration with Dom & Roland will be released as triple coloured vinyl, 2 X CD and Digital download. The additional CD & digital download package promises bonus material including techno tracks. a Klute - Know How To Get There b Klute - Fools Love c Klute - Strange Dinner d Klute - Make It Stop e Klute - Will You Still Love Me? f Klute - Buy More Now (with Dom & Roland) [9/15/2010]

Raiden & Khanage : Voodoo 2 : Voodoo Music : 12"
We are proud to bring you Voodoo Music 002. After the success of debut release from head honcho Raiden, Voodoo comes correct once more for the second release. Two tracks from Raiden & Khanage that continue the ongoing collaborative partnership between the pair that has seen releases on Renegade Hardware & Offkey- and now its the turn of V002. The tracks have been supported by Doc Scott, dBridge, Loxy, Rockwell, Genotype, Morphy & Data amongst others. Here is the lowdown. Amnesia Haze: The track began life at 2am on a pitch black winters night in Tallinn after Raiden & Khanage had been worked on 'King Stays King' and the 'Mirage Remix'. After a break in studio time listening to Jeff Mills' most abstract works the track began to roll out. Guided by the substance that the track takes its name from the pair wanted to create a brooding, sinister tribal banger- and without a doubt achieved this. Pounding sub bass, rolling percussion and haunting strings all add to the picture, the word Voodoo could not be more any appropriate when it comes to Amnesia Haze. The track ignited the flame that is voodoo music. 8798: Encouraged by the reactions to 'Haze' Raiden & Khanage followed up with 8798- The perfect tune to pair with Haze. The track carries a stark vibe, driven by percussion, tense drum work and accents and effects that further add to the landscape of the track. In contrast to the textures of 'Haze','8798' carries on a single minded mission. Underpinned by a bass that is 50,000 leagues below- 8798 moves along with weighty confidence as a result of the rumbling frequency. The brief was very clear from the very beginning for these two tracks- to come with something that was unmistakably voodoo, bringing you a complete picture of what the label represents, and without having to put that into anymore words than we have already - We think you know. a Raiden & Khanage - Amnesia Haze b Raiden & Khanage - 8798 [9/15/2010]

Limited edition pressing. An underground legend with releases on MJ Cole's personal label, Profile, Reading lad Duncan Powell offers a classic slice of, as Jackmaster (Wireblock/ Numbers) described it, "James Bond Step". A big string laden anthem. A goldmine of musical elements, Pushing was ripe for the remix treatment and as Falty DL was a big fan of the original, and as we were a big fan of him, set him to work stripping back the cacophony of melody transforming Pushing into a dark, broken 2-step swinger with flashes of vocals and strings, to awesome effect. Played and supported by the likes of Modeselektor, Peveralist, Diplo, Simbad, Desto, Sinden, Mary Anne Hobbs among others. Tunnidge : 7 Breaths / Fear : Chestplate : 12"
Finish copy promo. The landmark tenth release on Distance’s almighty Chestplate imprint sees the unprecedented addition of a brand new artist to the label. South London’s Tunnidge steps up and weighs in with two tracks packing equal amounts of bass pressure, gnarl and darkness. Two certified suckerpunches on wax. Distance has been supporting Tunnidge’s beats in his sets for a while, so fans will already be familiar with his brand of ferocious and driven bass music. His sound fits perfectly into the aesthetic Distance has created with the previous nine releases of his own productions, collaborations and remixes. These tracks have the definitive dubstep sound, with space and snare smack and maximum impact. 7Breaths is a peak time stomper, which will register on the Richter scale and make cracks appear on the dancefloor. On the flip, Fear is a masterclass in the use of sampled dialogue to full affect. Its ambient intro preludes a heavy widescreen dubstep experience, executed to perfection. These tracks make you realise that most dubstep newcomers are barely out of their nappies compared to Tunnidge. With major DJ support from the likes of Pinch, Ntype, Loefah, Cyrus, Joe Nice and 12th Planet, it’s obvious that dubstep DJs and fans will see this as a record that quite simply must be bagged and Tunnidge is a name to hold up alongside the very best the scene has to offer. a Tunnidge - 7 Breaths aa Tunnidge - Fear [9/15/2010]

After a series of life-changing experiences abroad, Kito returned home to Australia in 2008 and began to focus on cultivating the ideas which had been germinated through her travels into her own unique sound. Into 2010 and Kito has continued the progression of her style and produced a fourtrack for Disfigured Dubz featuring the hugely popular LFO with vocals by Reija Lee, along with On The Floor, Don't Wanna Lose You and her remix of Vaccine’s Fever which are characterized by a pop-infused, fresh and precisely clean production style, Kito’s music has received support globally from a number of leading DJs including Skream, Benga, Diplo, D-Bridge, Intra:mental, Joker, Jakes, Digital Mystikz and many more. Duffstep : Getting To Sirius Album Sampler : Join The Dots Music : 12"
Until now Duffstep has hidden in the seedy undergrowth of London always in disguise, clandestine and covert, ever plotting his imminent escape. This bid for freedom then, is called ‘Getting To Sirius’. Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, in Ancient Greek times Sirius was said to mark the beginning of summer, where women became aroused and men became weak. Duffstep’s debut album ‘Getting To Sirius’ is a blend of dub influenced, down tempo beats winding through layers of melody, synths and vocals softening the blow and giving a nice, warm and fuzzy edge to the thick slabs of sonic concrete. Though you don’t have to wait long before a nice big bass-line knocks you down on your arse again. It’s a migration from early morning blissful sweeps and sonic washes. It is the soul of rave, it is it’s long dead cousin come back to haunt it. It is the sound rave makes when it re-enters the earth’s atmosphere. Aside from travelling to Sirius on weekends, Duffstep can also be found sharing a stage with some of the biggest names in electronic music, Flying Lotus, Martyn, Kode 9 and King Midas Sound to name a few. Duffstep will be debuting his AV live show, a collaboration with one of the UK VJ scenes star assets Rebel Overload in July at Cargo. Costello [Will Bailey / Black Noise] : Get Crazy EP : Boxon : 12"
As you may already know about it, the artist COSTELLO (who is living in Bordeaux at the moment) is releasing his first EP on Boxon Records. Costello, 23 years old DJ/Producer, already appeared in international labels (Plasmapool, Party Like Us, Big Fish Recordings, Dust Traxx Chicago) and made remixes of artists such as Missil, Dilemn, Stereoheroes, Udachi or Gooseflesh. Thanks to his insane shows, his youth influenced by a good dose of strength and technique, and his electro 90s sounding break, rock or hip-hop, he managed to make a name. The maestro of the bassline is now playlisted by the most famous DJ's (David Guetta, Lazy Rich, Lee Mortimer, AC Slater, Calvertron, Steve Aoki) and specialized radios (BBC, FG, etc.). He's releasing now the « Get Crazy » Ep on the french label Boxon Records. On the vinyl version, the title "Get Crazy (Original Mix)", comes along with two remixes. One by Will Bailey (Simma Records), and the other by Black Noise (Southern Fried Records, Ministry Of Sound), two artists in vogue of the actual UK scene. Different and complementary, each one of them bring new ideas, punchy breaks, clever vocals for an efficient final result and of a wonderful quality. To cap it all, NineLives The Cat (from Sydney), brings his voice on one of Costello's tracks for a stunning featuring. Something is certain, those tracks won't go out from your head. Enjoy ! Terror Danjah / Dok : Bruzin VIP / Hysteria : HyperDub : 12"
Terror Danjah is currently putting the finishing touches to a new album for Hyperdub, while at the same time plotting total club takeover with his own soon-to-be-revealed label. This is his second single on Hyperdub, after the mighty pairing of ‘Acid’ and ‘Pro Plus’ earlier this year. These two tracks are packed full of energy and fresh ideas. ‘Bruzin VIP’ transforms the melodic serious grime of the original take, chopping and cutting the melody line up into epileptic staccato edits which give the track a shuddering, stuttering quality as if constantly on the brink of falling apart. ‘Hysteria’ is something else entirely; unexpectedly front-loaded with exuberant hi energy chords, the track breaks down into slip-sliding G-Funk synths, accented with what sounds like a vocal stolen from an early Nintendo game, before shifting the energy up again. It’s a track that’s determined to keep dancers in a permanent state of joy from the moment it starts. a Terror Danjah - Bruzin VIP b Dok ft Terror Danjah - Hysteria [9/15/2010]

Quest is one of Dubstep’s forerunners signed to DEEP MEDi Musik and one of Antisocial Entertainment originals alongside Silkie, Heny G, Kromestar, Harry Craze, Jay 5 and Mizz Beats. Quest is never one to shout and make a fuss, always quiet and thoughtful but whilst all around are loosing their heads in the madness Quest has directed all his energy in to his production and is always far more at ease at letting his music do the talking. Quest’s 4th release on DEEP MEDi ‘Smooth Skin’ showcases his progression, diversity and forward thinking as a producer. With it’s lush and dreamy opening chords, thumping bass kick, layered percussion and hypnotic vibes, you would be forgiven in forgetting about the B-line until it’s speaker shifting impact almost halfway through the track! Quest showing with ‘Smooth Skin’ that he takes as much inspiration from Detroit legends such as Moodymann and Theo Parrish as he does from label owner Mala (DMZ) and his very own Antisocial Entertainment Crew. ‘Wind Tunnel’ however on the flip sees Quest bouncing back to his Gangsta Boogie vibes for which he is so well known.

Duncan Powell [Falty DL] : Pushing : 2nd Drop : 12"
The guest illustrator on this release is Audrey Rogers, a fine artist/ illustrator with a visual style which quickly resonated with the 2nd Drop guys and fitted nicely with the 12" format. a Duncan Powell - Pushin’ b Duncan Powell - Pushin’ (Falty DL Remix) [9/15/2010]

Kito : Kito EP : Disfigured Dubz : 2x12"
After a series of life-changing experiences abroad, Kito returned home to Australia in 2008 and began to focus on cultivating the ideas which had been germinated through her travels into her own unique sound. The amalgamation of these efforts eventually gave rise to her seminal work What If, which along with Cold on the Bside was immediately recognized and released by Skream, one of Dubstep's figureheads, on his label Disfigured Dubz in 2009. With an already large and ever-growing fan base and encouraging articles and reviews from publications such as NME & Knowledge, it is clear big things are in store for this young artist. a Kito Ft.
Keep an ear out for Duffstep releases on Join The Dots, Electric minds & Saigon Recordings in the near future. a1 Duffstep - Free a2 Duffstep - My Kiss b1 Duffstep - Close Your Eyes [9/15/2010]

Ikonika / Ikonika & Optimum : Aqueous Cream / Ampersand : Hum + Buzz : 12"
Limited Finish Copy Promo’s. Ikonika & Optimum are proud to introduce their highly anticipated new venture: Hum + Buzz Records. This double A side debut release is right at the centre of the current UK crossover, post-genre sound. First up, 'Aqueous Cream' explores a different sound to the one Ikonika delivered on her recent Hyperdub debut album. A dancefloor ready track with smooth sub bass, staccato piano chords, trademark emotive synth-leads, underpinned by tough kicks, sizzling hi-hats and ricochet snares. On side AA, 'Ampersand' marks Ikonika & Optimum's first official collaboration. Layers of synth melodies float above a steady four/four pulse and unpredictable claps. An angular, broken, melodic march at a house tempo. a Ikonika - Aqueous Cream aa Ikonika & Optimum - Ampersand [9/15/2010]

Quest : Smooth Skin / Wind Tunnel : Deep Medi Musik : 12"
Heavyweight, frenetic breakneck percussion, insane wall of bass, hard soulful and jazzy influences taking you on a mystical journey into outer space! Dj Support: Mala (DMZ), Silkie (DEEP MEDi), Kode9 (Hyperdub), Antisocial Crew and others. Radio Support: Gilles Peterson (Radio 1), Mary Anne Hobb’s (Radio 1), DJ Chef (Rinse), Benji B (1 Xtra), Antisocial (Rinse). a Quest - Smooth Skin aa Quest - Wind Tunnel [9/15/2010]

Man Like Me : Lovestruck EP : Black Butter : 12"
MLM’s live show now incorporates a full brass section and drummer, accentuating the elements of carnivalesque ska and heightening their collective energy. This, combined with Johnny’s unique lyrical style, sees the band form a new fuller sound, merging their playful melodies with a powerful back line. Young British singer, Jessie Ware (who has also sung for Jack Penate), a bright new talent, has also joined them to offer soulful vocals. The ‘Lovestruck’ EP reveals a more refined method of writing infectious and original British music. Their new approach to composition harbors their recognized style, whilst showing a progression as serious songwriters. For the release of the EP the band has been working with producers such as Clive Langer (Madness) and Charlie Hugall (Florence and the Machine). Last year saw MLM supporting Hot Chip, Lady Sovereign, Zero 7 and Madness. They spent the summer playing stages at festivals including Glastonbury, Big Chill and Bestival. This year the band will be on an album tour, after the festival season, and playing on some of the biggest stages of their career. a Man Like Me - Lovestruck b1 Man Like Me - Why Bother? b2 Man Like Me - Run Over [9/15/2010]
