[MINUS99]
Plastikman : Slinky : Minus : 12"
VINYL EXCLUSIVE TRACK MONKEY!!! As anticipation builds around Plastikman's forthcoming Arkives box set, Richie Hawtin sneaks up with something we weren't expecting: a new Plastikman single. If you've heard Hawtin spin this summer, you're going to recognize Slinky as one of the highlights of his set: a blistering acid track that immediately stands out from today's standard-issue bassline techno hits. Ominous and insistent, it corkscrews deep into your brain, digging a wobbly 303 groove and hammering the point home with white-hot 909 snares. It's got all the hallmarks of classic Plastikman, from the octave-jumping acid lines to the white-knuckled, edge-of-your-seat suspense. In terms of intensity, it's right up there with "Glob" and "Spastik"-but, true to its name, it's slinkier and sexier, moving with a grinding, side-winding shuffle. It's quite a tricky business, rhythmically speaking, with unhinged triplet patterns slipping between the cracks of a stomping 4/4 beat. At several crucial points, the downbeat drops out, leaving you unmoored and bobbing dangerously out to sea. It's thrills, chills, and spills galore, and the same goes for the B-side, Monkee, a properly minimalist jungle-drum groove made of dizzily syncopated toms and clean, linear 808 patter. It's a trip into the darkest recesses of the rainforest, complete with the screeching of unknown beasts. And, like "Slinky," the groove works two different ways, with three-against-four pulses tugging your brain in two directions at once. In a word: dizzying. Beyond the obvious impact of both tracks, the single is particularly notable for being the first new Plastikman material since 2005's Nostalgik.2. Or… is it? In the run-up to Arkives, Hawtin has hinted at a trove of unreleased Plastikman material, tracks that have never seen the light of day. Are these tracks part of that bounty? Or are they new expressions of the classic Plastikman style? Hawtin isn't saying-all we know is that they're absolutely devastating / Minimal / Acid / [11/11/2010]

[DIYNAMICLP05]
H.O.S.H : Connecting The Dots : Diynamic : 2x12"
Diynamic man, producer and planet spanning DJ, H.O.S.H. - aka German Holger Behn - serves up his debut long-player "Connecting the Dots" for the Hamburg based imprint in the autumn of 2010. Since 2006, H.O.S.H. has been an integral cog in the Diynamic wheel (alongside sometime flat mate and label boss Solomun and frequent collaborator Stimming) and, as a result, has helped steer house music into unchartered waters. His productions and remixes to date - for labels like Kindisch, Get Physical, Supernature, Freerange, Strictly Rhythm, Dessous, Tsuba and more - have blended house, dub, minimal, classical instruments and world music influences with a recognisable deftness and engaging restraint. Firming up that point is this, his debut artist album Connecting the Dots (so called "because in interviews I always get asked what H.O.S.H. stands for and I always say that HOSH is just Connecting the Dots but, also, because the album connects the dots of my musical past, present and future"). It's an album made up of ten dance floor cuts which all exhibit a trademark Diynamic musicality; hint at H.O.S.H.'s influences up to this point and simultaneously mark out a path into the future of underground house music. Opening with late night house groover 'Hamburg Night' a clipped, propulsive pace is established from the off and male vocals (courtesy of Ost & Kjex) adds to the track's sense of rhythm. From there the deep loops and swollen bassline of 'Cash the Chord' make for a gloopy, rich sound which oozes a subtle future funk as it goes. Following on is a track which subtly references the past but importantly, though, H.O.S.H. skews said reference through his own squelchy filter, adds layer upon layer of house texture and makes it very much his own. From there the album goes through chunky, crisp grooves; complex arrangements and guest vocals from Mistress Barbara; bouncy, chord led jams and intense, bleeping rollers with devilish detail and delightful charisma. / Minimal / Tech-House / [11/11/2010]

Tiefschwarz [Soul Clap / Kiki / Penner & Muder] : Melted Chocolate 2 : Souvenir  : 12"
No break for Tiefschwarz! On top of touring the world with their new live show together with Santé and their always edgy DJ sets, Ali and Basti Schwarz have collected outstanding new remix materials inspired by the candy world of their last LP "Chocolate": The MELTED CHOCOLATE collection. Not so surprisingly the first set of Melted Chocolates (including remixes of Guido Schneider, SIS, Ruede Hagelstein and Tiefschwarz themselves) have been heavily supported over the summer by A-List International deejays of the likes of Loco Dice, Dubfire, Ivan Smagghe, Anja Schneider or Radioslave to name just a few. Tiefschwarz will keep on heating the dancefloors up with the release of Part2 and 6 additional brandnew remixes carefully crafted by PENNER & MUDER, SOULCLAP,KIKI and MAHER DANIEL. Highlight of "Chocolate" featuring the "voodoo-esque" vocals of Dave Aju, Ali and Basti have invited some of the finest talents of the German Scene to add their own ingredients to the recipe of "I Can´t resist". Recently hailed for their first album in June on Sasse´s Mood Music imprint, the duo Penner & Muder alternates dark stomping beats and melancholic piano-led parts for a remix, which equally speaks to the mind and to the body. With EP releases for 8 bits, NRK or Great Stuff, Amir (AKA Rimah Khalouf) has rapidly made a name for himself among the House experts. Amir liquefies the original track with bubbling sound effects and turns the vocals into dizzying futuristic chants. Your peak time`s next favourite. Bpitch Control´s Finnish superstar, KIKI goes straight for the groove. His jazzy keyboard simmers with classic deep waves and frequency noises, spicy and uplifting. Believe us you won´t resist. Also included in the vinyl package, "Home" (feat. David Wilde) has been given the remix treatment of Boston duo Dj Producer, SOUL CLAP (Wolf and Lamb). Mental and anguished, their infectious input should no doubt intoxicate the best hours of your after party in the few months to come. / Minimal / Tech-House / [11/11/2010]

[ARTLESS2200AB]
Reel By Real : 20 Years Surkit Part A/B : A.R.T.Less : 12"
The Mojuba sublabel a.r.t.less is very proud to present a retrospective by Detroit Techno veteran Martin Bonds aka Reel By Real in two parts. This release features the most seminal output by Martin Bonds who truly is one the most underrated Techno artists from Detroit and often remain not credited when it comes to the history of Detroit Techno, although he has been an inherent part of it since the early years! Maybe some of you remember the classic Marty Hardy mixes on KMS - yeah, that's him too! Each and every of the six tracks is a undeniable timeless classic, which embodies the true soul and spirit of Detroit as well as the youthful enthusiasm and power from the pioneering years of Techno. Some of the tracks are now seeing a proper release for the first time, due to the fact that they had been only released as a limited whitelabel on Juan Atkins Metroplex sublabel Interface Records in 1990 and 1991. So it is no wonder that the original Surkit 12? is one of the most sought after Detroit Techno records. Not to forget to mention that the retrospective also features a very rare collaboration with legendary Anthony Shake Shakir called Serene! To remain true to Detroit artists, the artwork for this project was created by the one and only Abdul Haqq from Third Earth Visual Arts who is giving Detroit Techno (e.g. Underground Resistance, Transmat, Red Planet etc.) a unique look since the late 80s. A limited handmade artwork cover to house both records will be part of the first 12?. To get the most out of these classics all tracks were restored by Don Williams and remastered by Redshape! We hope you enjoy this classic music as much as we do, because this is the real thing and this is just the reintroduction of Reel By Real for some new action in 2011! / Techno / Tech-House / [11/11/2010]

[PAL061]
John Tejada & Josh Humphrey : Assimilation : Palette Recordings : 12"
Tejada and Humphrey made their debut together late in 09 with their "Marooned," ep. "Assimilation" continues the theme of being marooned in Los Angeles. The four works compiled here are the result of the best moments out of 20 recording sessions. The music is for the most part assembled with analog instruments with Humphrey and Tejada bringing their modular gear together for the sessions. Humphrey's knowledge of synths and programming is quite extensive. He until recently helped operate LA based Big City Music, a dealer of modular and boutique synthesizers. The four works cover a wide range. "Assimilation" builds up panning modular basslines and swirling percussion with a building chord line that brings things together as the drums build. "Culture Shock" uses pitch shifting trickery to transpose the main melodic hook slamming it into nasty modular bass modulation giving the track it's pretty/dark edge. "Adaptation" keeps it's modular touches a bit more subtle focusing on classic melodic Tejada chords and nostalgic beats. "Subversion" rounds things out with a non 4/4 piece perhaps being the most nostalgic moment of the ep. This highly melodic uplifting track takes it's cues from happy musical memories. Classic chords, 808 beats, and some melodic modular lines to close out the ep. a1 John Tejada & Josh Humphrey - Assimilation a2 John Tejada & Josh Humphrey - Culture Shock b1 John Tejada & Josh Humphrey - Adaptation b2 John Tejada & Josh Humphrey - Subversion / Techno / [11/11/2010]

V/A [Ancient Methods / Bjorn Svin] : The Whip / Fat Like Hawks : RSB : 12"
It's been a while since the last RSB release, but then tracks like this don't come along every day! For their first vinyl appearance on a label other than their own, enigmatic German duo Ancient Methods do the honourable thing and break out 'The whip', a track that comes across like a 2-step party in the foundry of Thor himself. Let's lazily label it 'anvil techno', because as far as we are aware no has yet invented a genre that adequately desribes music such as this. And as we have come to expect, much the same can be said of the evil sickness that is 'Eat like hawks' by Bjorn Svin (with a little help from Karsten Pflum, Jona Olesen & Copyflex!). It starts like it means to go on, with a gnarled loop and indecipherable distorted vocals, and is gradually tweaked and augmented to the point of destruction. All manner of ill bass, overdriven filters, zaps, clanky drums & feedback join the party before the whole affair is brought to an abrupt end by the strange foreign lady that we have come to know and love over the course of the track. Truly music for small, sweaty, strobe-driven cellars. / Techno / [11/11/2010]

Function : Anticipation : Sandwell District : 12"
After the chart topping success of "Isolation" and extraordinary DJ & Media support (record of the month / DJ Mag), Function returns with a strong follow up to his debut on Sandwell District with his new single, "Anticipation" . A delicate balance between ancient and modern, this rock solid EP rides the line between true minimal techno and deep hypnotic psychedelia. Records like this separate leaders from followers, and real DJs from their hack counterparts. Think early +8/Probe meets Sunday morning at Panorama Bar . The limited edition will be pressed on white vinyl, and judging by the crazy response to SD07, will sell out quite quickly. He is raising the bar once again with these two outstanding tracks. Function ( Synewave/Infrastructure ) aka Dave Sumner has been fueling dancefloors for over 10 years now, also recording under the monikers Portion Reform (Downwards) , Re:Group (Infrastructure) , and DMO (Ctrl). Recently relocated to Berlin , he continues to write techno music history in the second decade of his artistic career. / Techno / [11/11/2010]

[SD15]
Silent Servant : Negative Fascinations : Sandwell District : 12"
Maybe Silent Servant (aka John Mendez) has been at the coloured sweeties and fizzy pop, as the two tracks for 'Negative fascinations' are decidedly more upbeat than offerings on his previous three Sandwell District releases, or indeed his own Historia y Violencia label. That's not to say that they are exactly cheery though, and the string-like drones of 'Discipline' will doubtless send a shiver up the spine of many a raver, but 'Demonstration' certainly ups the tempo by a notch or two compared to the much deeper flavours that we have become accustomed to. Certainly an accomplished enhancement of his production, whilst remaining true to his trademark textured sound... / Techno / [11/11/2010]

Anthony 'Shake' Shakir : Frictionalism 1994-2009 Pt 3 : Rush Hour : 12"
Part 3 in the Shake re-issue series.... 4 killers on here! Includes Assimilated that sounds as fresh as the day it was produced (10 years ago!) and the total classic, Get A Feeling from his seminal 1995 TVR release..TIP! This is the 3rd part in the individual Shake 12"s taken from the Frictionalism compilation released earlier this year. Another four Shake classics. 'Assimilated' was featured on his 'Natural Electronics EP' from 2010 and shows that Shake is a pioneer in offbeat techno and should appeal to fans of Joy Orbison, Falty DL et al. 'Get A Feeling' is taken from an early Track Mode release and is one for the Detroit house heads. 'For The Lamented' and 'Frictionalized' are both taken from his 'Unsterrilized Sessions EP' from 2002 and was an early favourite with Ricardo Villalobos a.o. Anthony 'Shake' Shakir [Falty DL / Space Dimension Controller] : Frictionalism 1994-2009 Remixes Pt. 1/2 : Rush Hour : 12"
On the back of Shake's retrospective Frictionalism 1994-2009 compilation, we have asked some producers from the new generation who were influenced by Shake's music one way or another to remix his music. Since Shake's catalogue is such a diverse one, we looked different directions for remixers. The first 12" embodies the whole new beat scene (dubstep, future house, wonky, what do we call it these days). FaltyDL is on fire lately so we asked him to remix 'Assimilated'. The result is an up tempo stepper that both offers a look into the past as well as into the future. Banging business. Next up is Space Dimension Controller. This UK young buck has been surprising many with his first few releases and remixes over the last year. He transforms the down tempo 'Detroit State Of Mind' into a mid tempo techno-soul affair that will have you grooving all the way through. Second part will feature the new techno generation with mixes from MRSK and Skudge. / Techno / Electro / [11/11/2010]

[ROBSOUL90]
Phil Weeks : All Day Every Day : Robsoul  : 12"
All Day Every Day' is the first single to be taken from Phil Weeks' forthcoming second album, scheduled for release in  February 2011. The single is typical of the style crafted by the Robsoul boss over his 10 year career - a relentlessly funky  and hypnotic groove paving the way for Weeks' now trademark stoned-sounding spoken word, delivered in English with a  heavy French accent. His Original Mix is complemented by the raw Ghetto Mix, along with acapella and instrumental versions.  'All Day Every Day', and the full album, has been crafted on no more than an MPC3000 sampler with beats, samples  and Phil's own vocals manipulated expertly into house rockers.  Speaking of the single and album concept Phil Weeks explains, "It's all about sampling, cutting, tweeking the samples in  pieces and doing a puzzle. Like they do in Hip Hop - producers like Jay Dilla, DJ Premier and 9th Wonder. I was inspired a lot  by this. The MPC3000 has a special groove and a sound that I love and I'm trying to do that with House music for this  project." / House / [11/11/2010]

[HIGHGRADE085]
Cab Drivers [Warten Borgeman] : Welcome To The Club EP : Highgrade : 12"
Berlin at the beginning of the 90's: It seemed like the Techno scene was becoming bigger by the day. Abandoned factories, empty cellars and forgotten halls became, overnight, the hippest locations for the awakening Electro disciples. Two who were not just in the midst of it, but who were in fact formative members of the scene were Daniel Paul and DJ Zky, aka Cab Drivers. With their label, Cabinet Records, they contributed to the avantgarde for the capital of jacking beats and the uncompromising style of their releases was groundbreaking for that time. And furthermore: "Techno brought the two halves of Berlin together" says Daniel Paul in hindsight. So it is little wonder that the Highgrade family is more than proud to present the newest release and the comeback of these Berlin Techno legends and their project, Cab Drivers. Four tracks that instantly capture the hypnotic feeling of former times and prove that Cab Drivers have not lost any of their innovative standards. The sound is linear, fresh and technically mature - Coming Back For More. / House / Tech-House / [11/11/2010]

Not a best of .more of a DJ Gadget for all those of you out there that still live for the sound, feel and touch of the black gold, because this compilation has only been available as a digital version up until now. A1 is Channel X with their galloping "Rodeo" that can catch those wild horses on any prairie. A2 definitely isn't from the pony stables with Gunnar Stiller's beautifully drawn sound scapes. On the flipside, Marco Resmann has made himself comfortable and rolls out the emotional carpet with his extended Vinyl version of "This Song feat. Soucie Six". [BNR052]
Boys Noize [Robert Hood / Phon O / Shadow Dancer] : Nott / Trooper : Boys Noize : 2x12"
One year ago Boys Noize released his second album "Power" and here come the last singles: the double A-side "Trooper"/"Nott" plus remixes by Robert Hood, Paul Chambers, Shadow Dancer, Phon.O and Strip Steve. Listen to "Trooper" and you immediately feel part of a movie - a dark, powerful tech strenght, big drum sounds and the scary voice "machine system" is something you haven't heard before, for sure! Boys Noize had the big honor of getting a remix by Techno-Godfather ROBERT HOOD. The legend from detroit (co-founder of Underground Resistance together with Jeff Mills) takes "Trooper" into a techno-machine, with big dry kickdrums and static percussions that reflect the original idea of "Trooper". A very special vocalist supported his work, Robert Hood's daughter sings "left, right, left, right" all the way through this mix which does magic on the dancefloor! Berlin buddy Phon.O turns "Trooper" into an epic Warehouse dub mix - oldschool meets new school. "Nott" is a modern tech-rave track a la Boys Noize with it's strong robot voice that claims "I am nott techno" and because rave was born in belgium we choose local hero Paul Chambers to take you on an adventure through bleeps and Acid, a sure shot to turn the club to the next level. UK's finest Shadow Dancer reduces the important bits from the original and adds nice percussive rythms so it gets less techno and more House! A great alternative, nott ? / Electro House / [11/11/2010]

VHS Head : Trademark Ribbons Of Gold : Skam : 2x12"
New full length album from Blackpool recording artist VHS Head. * A collage of vocals, melodic splatters and stop/start rhythms grind against industrial soundscapes and atmospheric backdrops, while basslines and mutated guitar hooks grab the listener for a very enjoyable ride. * The name 'trademark ribbons of gold' was a reference to the pre-cert era of video tapes . This was the true golden era of home video * A "pre-cert video" is any videotape issued in the UK before the introduction of the 1984 Video Recordings Act. Pre-cert videos were not required by law to be submitted to the BBFC so the era was unregulated, leading to many uncut releases of videos which would have fallen foul of the BBFC's strict guidelines. Some of the smaller independent companies decided to take advantage of this by issuing "strong uncut" versions depicting graphic violence and gore. A whole barrage of titles previously banned by the BBFC from getting a cinema release suddenly ended up uncensored on home video. / Electronic / [11/11/2010]
